Beaded Dreamcatcher Traditional Prayer Stick Dream Catcher

This traditional Dreamcatcher Prayer Stick is hand-made by Navajo Indian artist Curtis Bitsui. The impressive artifact is wrapped with genuine buckskin leather and adorned with intricate seed bead work. The Dreamcatcher at the end of the stick includes a genuine shell bead and a web intricately hand woven from artificial sinew. This prayer stick is also decorated with genuine feathers and horse hair which add alluring natural textures. Native American artists often use materials from animals in their work in order to channel the strength of their animal spirits. This artifact is 7-1/2" long. As with all hand-made items, some slight variations will occur.

Originally the Dream Catcher was hung by the window or at the head of your bed. The bad dreams get caught in the web while the good dreams work their way through the hole in the center, rest on the feather like a dew drop, and evaporate to the Great Spirit in the morning sun. The prayer beads on the Dream Catcher trap all the bad dreams that are left on the web. The prayer beads burn them up. There are many variations to the story of the Dream Catcher with different tribes.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize its important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity will be included with this item.
