Mandella Shield Dream CatcherThis is beautiful!
This Indian Mandella Shield Dreamcatcher Artifact belongs in your collection! No home is complete without one! Everyone needs a good dreamcatcher mandella shield! This mandella shield was masterfully hand made. The blue and while trade beads give this artifact extra detail. This one has extra dressing with genuine feathers for the natural Native American look. The wooden beads add an extra ornamentation to this dreamcatcher. Non Indian made. This dreamcatcher has a diameter of 10". From the handle to the bottom of the feathers it is 22" long. Originally the Dream Catcher was hung by the window or at the head of your bed. The bad dreams get caught in the web. The good dreams work their way through the hole in the center, rest on the feather like a dew drop, and evaporate to the Great Spirit in the morning sun. The prayer beads on the Dream Catcher trap all the bad dreams that are left on the web. The prayer beads burn them up. There are many variations to the story of the Dream catcher with different tribes. The objects man makes are called artifacts, and every artifact, whether it is beautiful or ugly, crude or refined, utilitarian or ceremonial, is a reflection and product of man's skills, his techniques, his arts. Artifacts reflect the ideas, the concepts, and the knowledge acquired or learned as a member of a tribe. Members of a particular tribe use certain techniques, and create a particular style because that is their tradition.
